FEC lends a helping hand in RFID education

Training lab for public

5th April, - MIGHT-METEOR ADVANCE MANUFACTURING SDN BHD, with a genuine initiative, has set up an RFID training centre for students or corporations to come and learn about RFID in an industrial setting.

The laboratory, under management of AMI (Advanced Manufacturing Institute), is a full training centre conducting various courses for industrial based students focusing on new technologies. AMI has a single objective in mind, which is to produce individuals that are well prepared on new manufacturing and industrial technologies to provide the industry with high-skilled personnel.

Inside the lab, AMI has made available a process machine called LKT1600 in which the machine is an automated, conveyor based machine that prepares a cartridge to be filled with special magazines for next process.

Where does FEC come in?

FEC helped to install MRW-3010 with FAT-3010 antenna on to the LKT1600 machine in which when coupled with Inventory Management software, the reader can read the given ID of a specific cartridge tagged with an I.CODE label.

This ID ensures that the right cartridge is being put by the operator and the cartridge is detected passing in and out the conveyor. This data can be transformed into table format for further processing in deeper process levels.

First time visitor: German Hochshule Wismar University

For the launching of the new training centre, AMI has cordially invited special visitors from Hochshule Wismar University, Germany. The special visitors were Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Norbert Grunwald(Rector), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Heinze(Dean), and Dipl.-Wirtschaftsing. (FH) Antje Eisenried. The visitors were explained by AMI & FEC engineers about the machine and how RFID can enhance process flow and prevent human errors.
