| MIGHT-METEOR Advance
Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. is a joint venture between MIGHT and METEOR.
Both shareholders are Government backed entities whose Board of
Directors are comprised of distinguished Government and corporate
individuals and representatives. MIGHT is a non-profit company established
in 1993 as a partnership between the private and public sector,
working together to prospect for business and investment opportunities
through the harnessing of high technology. MIGHT's patron is the
Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed.
MIGHT is steered by High-powered group under the Joint-Chairmanship
of a prominent Malaysian business personality and the Science Advisor,
Prime Minister's Department. The other members are likewise captains
of the Malaysian industry and Chief Executives of technology-relevent
organisations from the public sector, government ministries and
other key government agencies.
Established in 1998,
METEOR is a business venture set up by a consortium of eleven (11)
Malaysian public universities to contribute to the Malaysian Multimedia
Super Corridor initiative. METEOR's shareholders are the eleven
public Universities each of which holds an equal share. The board
of directors of METEOR are the Vice Chancellors of the participating
Universities. METEOR also operates the Malaysia Open University
(Universiti Terbuka Malaysia, UNITEM). |
